Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Traction Control is now standard on Focus Sport TDCi and Focus Ghia TDCi with PowerShift. ESP is engineered to assist the driver to maintain vehicle stability in extreme situations. It does so by sensing the stability of the car via several sensors. The ESP system responds to potential loss of stability by manipulating the braking system and can apply braking effort to individual wheels while reducing engine power output to assist the drive to maintain stability.
All new Focus models benefit from the addition of an emergency hazard warning light activation system as standard. It aids the driver in certain hazardous driving situations, by automatically switching on the hazard warning lights whenever the brake performance is more than 6-7 m/s², which is about 60-70 percent of possible brake performance (10m/s²). Once switched on the hazard warning lights can be switched off automatically by the system, or at any time by pressing the hazard warning light switch.
With this new system, the risk of suffering a rear impact whilst braking hard is significantly reduced, as following motorists are warned to slow rapidly by the flashing indicators of the braking Focus.
TDCi: unmatched performance and best-in-class fuel efficiency and economy Ford’s advanced Duratorq TDCi technology delivers exceptional performance with peak torque of 320Nm reached at a low 2,000rpm. Maximum power of 100kW is produced at 4,000rpm – showing that the turbo-diesel engine has a wide power band. This helps deliver best-in-class acceleration, responsiveness and a full spectrum of driving dynamics that don’t compromise its fuel efficiency.
1.6L Duratec benzene engines of Ford Focus are born with incredible power and performance, and yet are friendly to the environment. Equipped with either of these powerhouses, your New Ford Focus becomes Thailand’s first Flex Fuel Vehicle which is fully compatible with E20 alternative fuel. This is achieved with absolutely no compromise on its full spectrum of driving dynamics, as evident in generous acceleration, lively responsiveness and, of course, class-leading fuel efficiency.
The 4-speed automatic transmission in a benzene-powered Ford Focus comes with the Sequential Sports Shift (SSS) that gives the driver the flexibility to choose either fully automatic gear changes or sporty manual gear selection, depending on personal taste and driving style. SSS also helps ensure constant acceleration, smooth gearshift, greater power and a more overall economic operation.
The Control Blade Multi-Link Independent rear suspension absorbs road imperfections while maintaining excellent steering control and increased cornering stability. The front MacPherson spring struts and sub frames give optimum balance of ride, handling, steering precision and comfort.
Whether it’s easier parking and low-speed manoeuvrability or firm control when travelling faster. And if you want to personalise the steering to match your driving style, your perfect car lets you do this too.
The new Ford Focus features a new Electronic Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering (EHPAS) system that combines precise feedback with an automatic response to driving conditions and speed. So steering feels light and easy when parking – but when cornering and driving at higher speeds, you’ll receive greater feedback and control.
The newly-enhanced interior emanates class and quality, comfort and convenience, as well as, driving dynamics and passenger ergonomics. The presence of high quality materials is evident in virtually all elements. Stylish, easy-to-read gauges that glow red in the dark add desirable sportiness. Newly-designed master console with strategically placed controls and features ensure a touch of class and convenience. The angle for the hand rests on the two front seats can be adjusted up to 80 mm. Two cup holders, powerful left and right A/C sockets for front passengers and separate ones for rear occupants, and the 6-directional electronic-adjustable driver’s seat exclusive in GHIA model – all add up to the unmistakable comfort and quality Ford Focus is famous for.
The Ford Focus instrument Panel uses soft-to-the-touch “slush” moulding, which contributes to the quality feel inside the vehicle. The centre console is the single most important interior feature of the Ford Focus. It has been completely redesigned within the dimensions in order to be the first C-segment interior that offers controllable air conditioning to the rear passenger area.
